The Bees Are "Berry" Happy

The blueberry bushes we planted two months ago gave us blueberries!  Bumble and Stinger had fun picking them...

We put up netting to keep the birds from eating the berries and it worked!

Here is what Bumble picked...

Not bad, and there are still green ones on the bushes that will have to be picked in several days.  Of course, Stinger wanted to pose with Bumble too...

I think it is safe to say he is "berry" pleased with this years harvest!

The Father's Day Post:Part Two

On Father's Day we went to Children's Lake in Boiling Springs to feed the ducks.  It was a beautiful day!  Stinger even broke out his sunglasses!

He enjoyed watching and feeding the ducks with Daddy.

I always freeze the leftover crusts from loaves of bread throughout the year with this activity in mind.

There were a lot of mommy ducks with their babies and they were fun to watch.

There were big ducks and geese too.

I didn't trust the one with the orange beak.  He or she looks like they are going to snatch the bread out of Stinger's hand.  When the bread was gone Bumble and Stinger were sad but we promised them we would come back again sometime!

Happy Father's Day, Dad!

The Father's Day Post: Part One

Bumble wanted to paint some pictures for daddy this year for Father's Day.  Last week we spent some time outside working on them.  Here is Bumble concentrating very hard on her card for dad...

Stinger loves to paint too, but he doesn't understand the concept of cleaning his brush when he wants to switch to a different color...

If one paint brush is fun, then two must be even better, right?

When their paintings dried we taped them to daddy's gift.  Bumble and Stinger both picked out a bag of candy to give daddy!

Wasn't that "sweet" of them! Of course while they were painting they wanted me to paint with them.  I had a limited amount of time to complete mine before Stinger turned all the colors brown and yucky!

Not bad for $1.00 Crayola poster paints and a 10 cent brush!  Stay tuned for part two to see if Honey liked his paintings and candy, and to see where we went on Father's Day!

The Bee's New Shed

This is the story about some Bees that assembled a shed.  First we had to decide on a location and build the base for it.  Here is what Honey built in our driveway...

As Honey would say, "Not bad for a teacher!"

The shed we decided to go with is a 15x8 Lifetime storage shed. We purchased it through Lowes and had them deliver it to our hive.

Time to open up the box and see what is inside...

We will definitely have to read the manual to see where the cat goes!

First Honey installed the floor and the walls...

while Stinger built a race track for his cars out of the packaging.  Left over packaging material is the best gift you could give a two year old. This kept him busy while we worked.

Next the roof and the doors were installed.

Here is a sight you don't see too often...

Yes that is Honey reading the manual!!  This shed was actually very easy to put together, and it is very strong and sturdy.  It will meet our needs just fine, and I feel better now that some of the more dangerous items are out of the basement.  We would definitely recommend this shed and would purchase it again.  Want to see the finished product?

Awwwww! It's so pretty I almost "shed" a tear!  Thanks Honey for all your hard work, and you are right.  Not bad for a teacher!
