The Bees Decorate Sugar Cookies

What fun activity did Bumble and I do with our autumn themed sugar cookies?  We decorated them. First we made icing. Here is Betty Crocker's recipe for Vanilla Buttercream Frosting.

3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 to 2 tablespoons milk

First, mix the powdered sugar and butter with a mixer.

Then, stir in the vanilla and milk. If the frosting is too thick add a little more milk.  After the icing is made, separate the icing into bowls to color it with food coloring.  Bumble helped with this.  Here she is making yellow...

and orange.

Here are all the pretty colors she made.

Here are some sprinkles and candy corn to decorate the cookies with.

I let Bumble do all the decorating. She loved this! She sat in this very spot for two hours.  She concentrated on each one.

Aren't they pretty!

She made sure each one had at least one piece of candy corn.

She was so proud of the cookies she made. She told Honey and I that we had to ask her first before we could eat any!

Great job Bumble! Now, what else can we do that is fun with our autumn themed cookies?  Stay tuned for a sugar cookie story told by Queen Bee herself!

    1. Tell Grampa B that the cookies are already gone!!! We did this activity last week, but I am sure she would love to do this again and make one especially for him!
